Why would I, Mike Merz, deem myself the coolest guy on the planet?

Could I actually dethrone Brad Fallon as the current champ?

... and push Andy Jenkins down another notch?

Just a simple test, my friends. ;)

For any of you that is following the coolest guy on the planet SEO challenge ... to see who could rank #1 in Google for the search term 'the coolest guy on the planet', via various SEO techniques ... I thought it would be a cool thing to see if I could deem myself the coolest guy on the planet by mentioning it in a single post on this blog. ;)

Seriously ... I'm not full of myself. ;)

Just curious.

After all, I was able to boost this blog into the number #1 spot in Google (at this writing) for the search term 'internet marketing blog' ... over some serious competiton.

And I was able to pull up right behind Brad Fallon for his own name. ;)

Plus ... try typing 'stomping the search engines' into Google, and see who has outranked (as of this writing) both Brad Fallon AND Andy Jenkins for the #1 spot (they wrote the stomping the search engines course ... for those who don't know).

Hey ... that doesn't mean I think I know more about SEO than Brad, Andy, or any of the other experts participating in this challenge ...

I'm just trying to show that using a strong central domain that has been Online for a number of years, and branching sub domains and sub folders off it while using basic common sense SEO techniques like specific content, anchor tags, alt text, networking, etc. ... can garner good to great results.

How good?
